ABOUT ME

My career in content strategy grew from a passion for the written word that dates to my childhood. A lifetime avid reader, I early on decided that the work I would pursue had to involve working with words. I began my career as an editor in book publishing, working for various scholarly and small press publishers before making the leap to digital. My training and focus on editorial quality and the need to assess the fitness of content to the audience and the business made for a seamless transition to the role of content strategist and a professional focus on the topic of content audits and their role in enterprise content strategies.

I have worked both in-house and in agency environments on strategy, redesign, content management system implementation, and taxonomy projects for a wide variety of clients.

I am the founder and principal consultant at Strategic Content, a full-service agency founded in 2010, and co-founder of Content Insight, developer of the Content Analysis Tool, a software-as-a-service product that automated the generation of content inventories.

In addition to my consulting work, I am the lead organizer of Content Strategy Seattle, a community and monthly meetup that is focused on providing professional development and networking opportunities for content strategists in the Pacific Northwest and around the world.

I also teach the class in content audits in the Master’s in Content Strategy program at FH Joanneum in Graz, Austria.
